Rare UK Head of Legal opportunity - HQ North Yorkshire, flexible working


My client, an international business, seeks a UK Head of Legal for a wide-ranging role reporting to a General Counsel based outside the UK.

With UK headquarters in North Yorkshire, the organisation is looking for an experienced lawyer to work closely with the leadership of the UK business, providing strategic advice and making commercial decisions. Legal matters will include general contract management, drafting and negotiating supply agreements, dealing with international matters and managing the relationship with external lawyers. As Head of Legal you will also have responsibility for corporate governance and compliance, you will identify and control commercial risks in commercial procurement and contracting and consult and communicate with external parties. Any knowledge of EPCM projects would be helpful but not essential.

Suitable lawyers will have a minimum of 10 years PQE (to more senior) and will have a strong track record in giving commercial legal advice. Senior lawyers coming from a private practice background will be of equal interest as those already in-house. You should be a strong communicator, very commercially aware and solutions focused. You should also possess strong influencing skills and be able to promote recommendations to all levels of the business.
