We want you to share your legal practice expertise and market knowledge to help develop the section.

You will join a friendly, welcoming and talented team that want to work for the benefit of the profession by contributing advice about how the section can best support its members.

Who we are looking for

The Private Client Section advisory committee has up to five vacancies for solicitors working in all areas and at all levels of private client law.

Candidates should be able to attend (in person or by phone) the five committee meetings a year and to contribute to the work of the committee at other times.

Applications are particularly welcomed from solicitors with the profiles described below as these are under represented on the committee:

  • solicitors from minority ethnic backgrounds
  • solicitors with less than five years’ post-qualifying experience
  • solicitors based in Wales
  • solicitors with expertise of working with clients from non-Christian religions
  • solicitors with expertise of working with clients from/in Wales
  • solicitors working in top 100 firms or in/with charities, or in/with local authorities
  • solicitors working with digital assets, technology, vulnerable clients, LPS, APR/BPR, international tax and UK domicile clients with foreign assets

Why should you become a committee member?

Get involved with issues as they develop, gain greater understanding of the private client law market, act as a voice for the profession in England and Wales, and help develop the skills of future private client law practitioners.

Appointments are for three years, with potential for this to extend.

Reasonable expenses are reimbursed, along with a free place at the Private Client Section annual conference and opportunities to represent the section.
