Your new role
I am recruiting for a Associate/Senior Associate Solicitor or Legal Executive with 6 years' PQE in Insolvency Law to work full time as part of the Business Support and Insolvency Team in the Reading office (covering the Thames Valley), working closely with the Partner who heads up the team and supporting the junior Solicitors in the team.

The successful candidate will also be expected to support the Legal Director in the firms London offices as well as working closely with the team in other offices around the country. The successful candidate will be working in all aspects of insolvency, both personal and corporate, including transactional, advisory and contentious insolvency. The team works for a wide range of insolvency practitioners, banks, lenders, investors, directors, companies and individuals and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work closely with all clients in an exciting area of law in which no two days are the same.

What you'll need to succeed
A working knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016 is essential, and the ideal candidate will have some experience in dealing with administration appointments, security reviews, sales of businesses, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, matrimonial home proceedings, transactions at undervalue, preferences and directors' loan accounts. Experience of working with LPA Receivers would be advantageous.

  • Understands and complies with Information Security responsibilities commensurate with this role including Data Protection and the duty of confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage hard and often conflicting deadlines
  • Confidence in dealing with internal stakeholders and external clients - good communication skills
  • Team playing approach
