Head of Legal Practice
Post: Head of Legal Practice
Hours: 35 per week (flexible and part-time working considered)
Salary: circa £36,000 plus 5% employer pension contribution
Leave: 28 days including bank holidays
Reports to: Director
Location: London / Sheffield (regular travel required)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the award winning legal charity ATLEU (Anti Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit).
The Head of Legal Practice is a pivotal role providing leadership to ATLEU’s Legal Team and ensuring ATLEU maintains a high profile, high quality and expert holistic legal service to survivors of trafficking and slavery.
The Head of Legal Practice will maintain an active caseload within one of ATLEU’s areas of legal aid practice:
- Housing
- Immigration & Asylum
- Public law
- Claims against Public Authorities
- Trafficking Compensation Claims (Employment and Civil litigation)
They will be responsible for managing casework staff, the Legal Aid contract and overseeing the quality and compliance of all legal work. They will also contribute to the development of ATLEU’s strategic litigation.
This is an exciting time join ATLEU as the organisation is going through a period of growth. We opened a second office in Sheffield in September 2018 to extend our services into the north of England and have plans to continue to expand the team in London and Sheffield over the next 5 years. The Head of Legal Practice will play a key role, working with the Director and Head of Operations, to develop the organisation’s ability to grow the delivery ATLEU’s legal services nationally.
