Prosecutions and Civil Litigation Lawyer

A Prosecutions and Civil Litigation Lawyer is required to join a large, forward-thinking Local Authority in the East of England.

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Lawyer who can capably undertake a diverse workload and able to work to tight deadlines.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Appearing as the Council's advocate in Courts, Tribunals, Inquiries or other hearings as appropriate
• Drafting, preparing and collating pleadings, witness statements, summonses, complaints, indictments and other legal documentation
• Fraud Prosecutions
• Licensing Prosecutions
• Health and safety offences
• Planning enforcement
• Food hygiene prosecutions

This role would suit a Lawyer who is able to prioritise tasks effectively and work autonomously. Previous experience of working for a Local Authority would be desirable for this role, although not essential.

The Local Authority is easily accessible from public transport and in return, the client is offering a competitive hourly rate and a good length of contract.

The council is based with good transport links and flexible working hours are available.

This position will begin on an initial 3 month basis, with the strong possibility for extension.
