TMT Lawyer

This opportunity will give you an exceptionally high level of client contact, giving you the ability to obtain a high level of exposure to business development. It is common even for the most junior of Lawyers to have this level of exposure, this unique approach allows Lawyers to gain PQE ahead of their years and become not just technically strong, but fully rounded and commercially minded. Their Lawyers are business generators and I would describe them as dynamic, entrepreneurial, rain makers.

This would role would suit perhaps a Lawyer that is in a Partner lead department where there is little opportunity to obtain hands-on client exposure. This is crucial at this level of PQE, for future progression planning.

The Role

The firm is looking for TMT Lawyer to join a stand firm, which is one of the most well-recognised outside of London, Legal 500, and Chambers rated.

Working closely with the Partners, you will benefit from their wealth of expertise and as such you will develop quickly and be knowledgeable far beyond your level of PQE. The team benefits from strong specialist support from other departments. They have significant international reach, although the majority of the work is Domestic.

Work

They advise on all aspects of technology, media and communications law, with a significant portion of the work including advice on data protection and cyber security issues including by reference to The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), cloud hosting, so called 'big data' plays (including data storage and security), content provision, data protection and regulation, convergence and digitisation projects, open source content management systems, e-commerce regulation and the provision of internet services, strategies and website terms and contracts, social media platforms and cyber and IT security arrangements.

The firm acts for both users and providers of technologies, content, communications, processes, procedures and functional operations, utilising their industry knowledge of technical and business issues to add value and deliver "win-win" solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years PQE with strong experience in in TMT law. (There is no upper limit to the level of PQE)
• Experience of business development will be to advantage
• Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail are essential
• You should work within a team
• You will deal with an excellent quality of work
