Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) oversees public transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement, and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

Due to expansion of the current team, TfGM has an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor to support the litigation workload in respect of construction, commercial and property disputes. Ideally you will also have general experience in other fields such as commercial/contract, commercial property conveyancing and data protection.

As part of a supportive and valued legal team, you will be exposed to a diverse and interesting litigation workload together with other general areas of law depending on experience. You will receive supervision and support from a highly experienced in-house team and external legal support where required with a view to you managing disputes on behalf TfGM and supporting/supervising other members of the legal team.

You will have commercial acumen and proven experience of undertaking litigation/dispute resolution. You will have the ability to take the initiative, identify the key issues, understand the risks and benefits associated with options for resolution and have a commercial eye on legal costs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further enhance their dispute resolution experience in a commercial environment as well as widen their skill set in other fields in an in-house role.

This is a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract.
