Your new company

A UK based IP and technology licensing company in London that believes in the key role of intellectual property in promoting innovation. It supports a level playing field for IP owners and implementers, working with both to unlock the full value of innovation sharing.

Your new role

This is an initial temporary (6 month FTC) to permanent position. The Licensing Officer will:

  • Be assigned multiple accounts under various existing licensing programs and engage these companies at senior management level to introduce the license program and progress discussions toward license execution
  • Attend multiple international trade shows annually to engage with exhibiting companies and progress license discussions
  • Research accounts to understand consumer electronics company fundamentals and industry verticals, identify infringing products and assess license opportunity
  • Work within the licensing team to develop new licensing programs
  • Working with senior members of the licensing team (and in time, independently), negotiate and execute license agreements with target accounts
  • Work with external legal teams in support of various patent litigations worldwide

What you'll need to succeed

The LO should have experience and/or qualifications in science/engineering, business and law and ideally, will have had past exposure to sales, preferably licensing of intellectual property. Ability to work independently and be a strong team player with excellent and confident communication skills is important.

  • Primary degree in Business, Science/Engineering or Law
  • Fast learner, able to think on their feet and good with numbers
  • Ability to connect with people internally and externally

What you'll get in return

As it has a small but highly experienced team and is still at the early stages of development, there are excellent opportunities to learn from experts in a niche and exciting industry and grow with the company. Although a junior role, there will be opportunities for travel (e.g. Barcelona, Hong Kong, Berlin) and rapid progression as the company grows.
