Head of Department - Conveyancing

This is a very rare opportunity for a Conveyancer to come into a highly profitable team joining a the Head of Department, based in this stand out firms' office in North Bristol.

The Role

This firm is seeking a Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to become their Head of Department at their office in Bristol, Somerset.

This is a rare opportunity - the role will involve running the department which employs 13 people currently, including support staff across 2 offices.

You will only be requried to go to the other office once a fortnight or so (very infrequently) as they're pretty self sufficient.

You will need to have regulatory knowledge to do with the CQS as you'l be running the department.

The department turns over a good amount of work, not that far away from £1m a year and this makes up a good 6 or 7% of the firms entire turnover, so this is a really important position for them and as such, you would be a highly valued and key figure within the firm.

The role has come around due to the firm's current H.O.D retirement approaching.

As there is an exisitng profitable department, a relocating candidate could also be considered as a following is not required, but, strong business development skills would be useful to have and well valued.

The caseload will include straight forward sales & purchases as well as remortgages, lease extentions, etc. (No plot sales or new home purchases!)

Requirements:

• You will be a Solicitor or Legal Executive (If not a solicitor, you will have extensive conveyancing and management experience probably 10 years +)
• You will be experienced in managing a team
• You will be knowledgeable regarding CQS/Regulatory matters linked with Residential Conveyancing.
