Head of CIS Desk

Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP is a full service law firm with an international outlook. We have a vacancy for a full time Head of CIS Desk based at our City office in London, EC1. 

Job Description

• Managing a case load of cross border dispute matters.
• Working with the firm’s Dispute Resolution lawyers as appropriate.
• Managing a case load of international commercial matters.
• Working with the firm’s Company and Commercial lawyers as appropriate.
• Managing a case load of private client matters.
• Working with the firm’s Private Client Department as appropriate.
• Working with foreign lawyers and professionals assembling teams of suitable lawyers
• Managing key client and intermediary relationships
• Participating in Russia/CIS group practice marketing initiatives; speaking at Russia/CIS conferences; preparing client pitches/capability statements and procuring work from clients and intermediaries.

Essential skills, qualifications and experience

• Be a qualified lawyer in a CIS country and
• Be either qualified as solicitor in England and Wales or have the ability to cross qualify via Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test
• Be a native Russian speaker
• Be fluent in English language (both spoken and written) - a very high level of functioning is required.
• Be experienced in private  legal practice in a CIS country
• Be experienced at managing a team
• Be experienced in cross border legal practice.
• Be experienced in advising ultra-high net worth individuals, particularly those from Russia and CIS, on trust and tax-related issues in relation to their multi-jurisdictional private and business assets.
• Be experienced in advising and establishing bespoke international asset-holding and wealth management structures including private trust companies, limited partnerships and family offices
• have a Track record of  fee earning on CIS related matters
• have significant business  development experience  in CIS related matters including tenders for government contracts
• have the ability to bring existing client relationships to the firm

Salary range

£45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
