A Successful Corporate Commercial Law firm is seeking an Associate to join their expanding Property Litigation Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring ‘business’ lawyer who is keen to further develop their relationships with clients, hone their commercial acumen and build upon their technical legal expertise.

Responsibilities of your new role
Reporting into the Property Dispute Resolution Partner, the successful candidate will be part of a small team, advising and acting for a wide range of national commercial entities. The successful candidate will be involved in dealing with a variety of property matters, including;
- Commercial, agricultural and residential property dispute resolution and risk management
- Contentious Landlord & Tenant law
- Estate and portfolio/asset management, Portfolio acquisitions through share and asset transfers
- Facilitating developments / drafting and negotiating development agreements
- Resolving telecommunications problems and assisting in the resolution of real estate disputes such as boundaries, rights of way or restrictive covenants
- Defending bulk litigation on behalf of developers and local authorities, as well as dealing with professional negligence claims against professionals
- Leasehold acquisitions/disposals
- Litigation and mediation
- Funding and general insolvency
- Planning and environmental issues
- Negotiation of certificates of title and general title work
- General Real Estate matters;
- Retail and corporate lease agreements
- Managing lease amendments
- Letting agreements
- Working with businesses to resolve a range of commercial issues and to support strategic management initiatives
Candidate requirements
The ideal candidate will not only have solid experience within Commercial & Residential Property law and Litigation, but also a keen eye for stakeholder engagement and relationship management. It is essential that the candidate is UK qualified. Ideally, the Associate/Senior Associate will have trained within a leading Legal 500 or City law firm.
You will be an agile (think on your feet and flexible around client priorities), hands-on legal professional with a strong sense of initiative, pro-activity and investigative mind-set.
