Debt Recovery Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced Debt Recovery Paralegal to join a well-established law firm based in Leeds. 

The main duties will include assisting with the recovery of outstanding debts on behalf of business clients, processing claims, negotiating payment plans and working to targets. This will include working independently and within a team environment (both within the team and the wider firm as a whole).

You will be expected to manage a caseload of debt recovery matters, maintaining up-to-date records on the case management system and advising and updating clients as required. The post holder will also be required to prepare court documentation and progress debt recovery claims through the relevant court where appropriate.

You will also negotiate payment arrangements with debtors, or their authorised representatives, and deal with debtor queries in a professional and courteous manner.

You will need:

At least 2 years experience as a Paralegal/Fee Earner within Debt Recovery,

Experience of working in a volume environment,

Experience of case management systems preferred,

Knowledge of all stages of the debt recovery process, including knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Recovery matters,
Good IT skills – good working knowledge of Windows; Word and Excel,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
A strong commitment to client care.
