Grade: PO6: £42,683 - £45,591

We are looking for a solicitor or barrister entitled to hold a practising certificate or FILEX with knowledge and experience of housing law, litigation and regulatory matters.

Leeds City Council is looking to recruit a full time permanent principal legal officer (Housing Law).  You will work within a small and supportive team of legal officers dealing with housing law issues.  The post holder will support the Council’s Private Sector Housing team in their work improving standards of private rented accommodation in the city, by advising on enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004 and associated legislation, including dealing with tribunal appeals, civil penalties and similar matters.

It is essential that you have good interpersonal skills, are able to plan and organise your own workload with minimal supervision in a supportive environment and that you are able to work to tight court deadlines whilst fulfilling quality and service standards. You will be a strong team player, flexible, enthusiastic and committed.
