Brand new role in financial regulation with a top 20 firm in Leeds.

Our client is looking to strengthen its highly specialist banking regulation team with the addition of a regulatory lawyer. This firm have the best financial regulation team outside of London, so the quality of work is excellent.

Interest in this role is encouraged from candidates who are working in a different practice area to financial regulatory work at another law firm, but this firm is likely to warm more to someone who has worked in the financial services industry with experience in compliance and regulatory matters, particularly with reference to private banking and wealth management in a major institution. If you are an experienced lawyer who practices outside of financial regulatory work it is worth noting that financial regulation work is well suited to those who enjoy problem solving, and highly technical and complex areas of law. For example, this firm are receptive to CV's from banking, corporate, consumer credit, mortgages, retail and general financial services.

The scope of this role includes assisting with the implementation of MIFID II and EMIR as well as supporting transactional, funds structuring and banking work. The role, therefore, encompasses a range of legal areas and can offer a varied and interesting caseload. It also means people from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The team are flexible in terms of PQE and will consider experienced regulatory lawyers from NQ to 5PQE. You will ideally be practising at a highly-rated commercial firm and will have an excellent academic record.
