Sellick Partnership's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a locum Education Lawyer or Paralegal to join a busy Local Authority in South London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer, or experienced paralegal, to further their professional legal development within a supportive and progressive team. Our client is seeking an individual who is competent in dealing with SEN matters.

You must have previous experience in dealing with the following role requirements.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Advise on SEN appeals received from parents concerning the provision and placement set out in EHCP (Educational Health Care Plans)
• Assess each appeal and whether it was in the Local Authority's interest to concede or proceed to appeal
• Draft responses to Tribunal in preparation for hearings
• Optional duty of conducting advocacy and instructing counsel

The Local Authority has excellent transport links and there are two car parking facilities nearby. The courts are also conveniently based in the local area.
