In this new; pivotal role, Head of Contracts, you will lead and manage a specialist research contracts team in support of the University’s ambition to continue to grow and diversify its research and innovation portfolio.
You will be instrumental in reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex legal and contractual matters and will take a leading role in the development of an efficient service for the management of a broad portfolio of research and research-related contracts.
In this role, our expectations are that you will:
- provide leadership and management to inspire; motivate and drive innovation
- provide advice and guidance to academic departments in relation to procedures and policies relating to research contracts
- lead contract negotiations
- develop and promote the internal and external profile of your research contracts team
- embed an integrated approach to support risk management and performance across the University.
This role would suit you, if you:
- have demonstratable experience as a Contracts Manager (or similar),
- hold a relevant professional qualification and/or law degree with extensive experience of managing contracts,
- relish managing a large and diverse turnover of bids and contracts, working to tight deadlines and balancing conflicting priorities,
- have experience of advising and influencing senior management on business-critical issues
