Do you have the communications skills to inspire the next generation of our profession? We are currently looking for a tutor to teach part-time (three days per week) on the criminal litigation team on the Bar Professional Training Course at our London Bloomsbury campus.

The University of Law is one of the UK's leading providers of legal education and training, working right at the heart of the legal profession. We bring together teaching of the highest quality, a focus on practical skills and innovative learning styles to deliver perfect preparation for life in legal practice and ongoing professional development.

We are looking to recruit qualified solicitors or barristers with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. Teaching will include both knowledge (criminal litigation, evidence and sentencing) and skills (advocacy, conference and drafting). The role will also include personal tutoring, marking, admissions, extra-curricular activities and marketing.

We select all of our BPTC students by way of interview and advocacy test. We have enviably high pupillage success rates: 71% of our full-time UK/EEA BPTC students graduating in 2017 secured a pupillage within one year of successfully completing the course.

To apply for this role it is essential you are a qualified lawyer (either a solicitor or barrister) in England and Wales.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please email the recruiting manager Sarah Corbett - Sarah.Corbett@law.ac.uk

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.
