Your new company
This Charity are best known for preparing young people with skills for life through workshops, activities and adventure. They help to develop character skills like resilience, initiative and tenacity; employability skills such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving; and practical skills like cooking and first aid. Based near Chingford, the Legal team require an interim Head of Legal for 6 months.

Your new role
As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for leading the in-house legal team, working to the agreed budget and to providing advice on legal matters across the Charity. In particular advising on general legal queries, including commercial agreements, funding and programming agreements, and to advise and support on governance and complaints. You will also carry a complex caseload of matters. You will act as either a qualified Solicitor or Barrister and Company Secretary to the Charity and provide general legal advice to Members of the Association on a host of issues affecting the Charity.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience. You should possess excellent leadership skills, be a self-motivated legal strategist and an effective communicator. You must be able to support, manage and direct the legal team, helping the organisation achieve its objectives. Previous experience in a senior legal role within a charitable or not-for-profit organisation is desirable. Finally you must be immediately available to start a role.
