Locum Legal Services Manager – £400 - £550 daily rate – Thames Valley
Venn Group's specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a Locum Legal Services Manager to work for a Local Authority based in Thames Valley.
This contract is offered for an initial period of 4-6 months, ideally on a full-time basis, but part-time candidates may be considered.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister, have a strong understanding of Contracts and Commercial Law and possess previous managerial experience. Previous managerial experience within a Local Authority is desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be expected to carry out various responsibilities including:
Being responsible for the management and overall provision of effective and timely legal services to the Authority
Efficiently handling a caseload of Contracts and Commercial Law matters
Representing the Local Authority before the Courts, Tribunals and Public Enquiries
Advising on various day to day legal issues and assisting the Head of Law and Governance on the legal budget process and business planning
Deputising for the Head of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer as and when required
Regularly reviewing and updating systems and procedures within the legal team
It is essential that candidates have a level of commercial understanding due to the nature of the Local Authorities objectives and the projects the legal team will be supporting.
An attractive daily rate of between £400 to £550 (umbrella rate) is offered, dependent upon experience.
