Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Solicitor Consultant to lead the development of the Trust’s new in-house legal team. Working closely with senior managers within the Trust’s Nursing and Governance Team, the successful post-holder will be required to work efficiently, accurately and flexibly across a range of medico-legal matters, mental health law, coronial law and claims management. As head of the new in-house legal team, the postholder will also establish effective controls for the outsourcing of other areas of legal support, including in relation to employment, property and commercial law. They will demonstrate effective communication and analytical skills and enjoy sharing their technical expertise in an appropriate manner with staff at all levels.

This position would normally be based at the Knowsley Building on the Trust’s main hospital site in Prestwich.
