Senior Lawyer (Adult/Child Protection/Education)

Grade EPO6 £48,093 to £50,857

36 hours per week

We are expanding our in-house Legal Service to build a team with the right people and the right structure that allows us to respond to the innovation, improvement and growth around us and provide an excellent legal service to the Council and our communities. We are interested in recruiting bright, committed lawyers and providing them with the environment to be as good as they can be.

We are looking for candidates with extensive experience of providing legal advice relating to adult social care, child protection and education issues. You will have excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team of solicitors and legal assistants. You will be confident in handling complex cases, conducting advocacy and managing a caseload of court proceedings and advice matters. You will have the ability to work well under pressure and assist the Principal Lawyer to manage a busy workload to tight deadlines.

The successful candidate must be a qualified solicitor or barrister. This post is politically restricted at Sensitive level.
