Job Title: Clinical Negligence Solicitor/Legal Executive

Job description: A Cheshire law firm is seeking a Newly-Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their Clinical Negligence Team on a full time basis.
This role is suited to an NQ, or equivalent Legal Exec, who has undertaken the Advanced Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence as an elective on the LPC or equivalent with at least 1 or 2 seats in Catastrophic PersonaI Injury/Clinical Negligence when training.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure cases are progressed in a timely, efficient and proactive manner.
- Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors as necessary.
- Dealing with all aspects of pre and post issue procedures in a timely and cost effective manner. Pursuing cases to conclusion.
- Ensuring all actions as per Proclaim Action List are completed in a timely fashion.
- Reviewing and summarising medical and personnel records
- Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel requirements.
- Managing a Proclaim task list in a timely manner
- Accurate time recording.
- Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
- Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly.
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience of dealing with a broad range of Clinical Negligence matters.
- Clear understanding and application of Clinical Negligence Law
- Experience of drafting ITC, WS, bundles, arranging conferences, drafting applications, instructions to experts and letters of claim.
- Attention to detail
- Excellent client care skills to include a good telephone manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
- Ability to form and execute case planning and strategies
- Keen analytical skills
- Good organisational skills and able to effectively prioritise
- Ability to form and execute case planning and strategies
- Experience in using Proclaim is preferable but not necessary
- Desire to work in a small team environment assisting a Partner and Senior Solicitor
- Desire to contribute to the growth and development of a dynamic team
Salary: DOE
