Private Client / Head of Department - Cheshire

Our client is a professionally managed, regional practice based in Cheshire providing comprehensive services to both commercial and private clients. 

With unrivalled prospects and a clear career path, this is an enviable opportunity for an ambitious, private client lawyer wishing to lead a team.  The nature of the role requires a specialist with not less than 8 years’ PQE and ideally STEP qualified or working towards accreditation.  

As well as strong technical skills, we are looking for a commercially astute lawyer with gravitas, who will enjoy playing a key role in the future development of the team.   Previous experience in operational management, team supervision, training & mentoring and client/business development are essential. 

The private client team is already well established and benefits from an extensive wills bank. Location and demographics produce diverse instructions and an interesting range of clients (and their estates) include a range of old money, HNW clients, professionals, entrepreneurs & business owners.  The firm is regularly appointed as professional executors on the probates of taxable estates and acts as professional trustee on several ongoing (some sizeable) trusts. Typical instructions include: 

o    Estate Planning & IHT advice
o    Wills and codicils 
o    Trusts (including lifetime and discretionary will trusts)
o    Probate & Administration of Estates (some valued several million pounds) 
o    Elderly Client Advice and Asset Protection 
o    Lasting Powers of Attorney and Incapacity issues
