Locum Litigation Lawyer

Locum Litigation Solicitor – £35-45 per hour – East Midlands – Remote Working

Venn Group's specialist legal team are recruiting a Locum Litigation Solicitor for a Local Authority based in the East Midlands.

The team are looking for someone to carry out this role for an initial period of 3 months, on a remote working basis for the foreseeable future. However, please note there may be an expectation for some office based working if Council guidance should change.

The successful applicant will be able to advise the Authority on a range of Civil and Criminal litigation matters, ranging from small to multi-track claims. Candidates with a broad range of experience across different areas of litigation are encouraged to apply.

Duties may include:

• Handling a diverse range of Local Government civil litigation from small claims track to multi track

• Dealing with monetary claims for compensation

• Resolving matters concerning housing disrepair, insurance law including liability and quantum assessment

• Carrying out intellectual property litigation including infringement claims, planning enforcement notices and preparing claims for trial

• Dealing with housing act enforcement and HIMO prosecutions

• Carrying out prosecution work from summary to either way offences including social housing fraud, benefit fraud and council tax fraud

• Drafting relevant notices prior to laying information

A rate of between £35 and £45 per hour Umbrella is offered (dependant on experience) – this contract is deemed to be inside IR35. The client is ideally looking for someone to work on a full-time basis but part-time candidates are also encouraged to apply.
