The Role

Pivotal hires for the practice at Partnership level has further strengthened the patent practice, and increased work flow due to acquired Partners followed client work. The new level of expertise is focused around the AI and computer science space. AI-based innovation is a key focus for the practice and they wish to employ some of the sharpest minds in the industry to handle an exceptional level of work.

The practice is well suited to deal with the increasingly common occurrence where autonomous AI creates potential intangible assets. The team are concerned with determining the ownership of those rights and how related disputes can be resolved. This demonstrates the level of adaptability and innovation that the firm actively encourage to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.

The AI and High-Tech team require a fully or part qualified Patent Attorney to become fully immersed in the most sophisticated and forward-thinking patent practice in Birmingham. The team, from Trainee to Senior Partner, are excited about the significant potential in the AI and High-Tech space and what the practice can offer in terms of level of work and career development for the right candidate.


  • STEM qualification in a related subject i.e. Comp Sci
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice
  • Fully qualified European or UK Patent Attorney
  • Business Development and client facing
