We are working with a traditional well established law firm in the West Midlands who is looking to appoint a Head of Family.
The role will act as successor to the firms current department Head – and therefore there will be a full caseload to inherit plus the chance to (although not essential) introduce your own clients as and when they choose to follow.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious family lawyer who can provide solid experience in dealing with private family matters focussing on:
- Property / financial disputes
- Matrimonial Conveyancing
- Judicial separation and annulment
- Separation agreements and settling differences without going to court
- Civil partnerships
- Cohabitation and agreements for couples living together
- Pre-nuptial & post-nuptial agreements
Other key areas of importance are the ability to refer work to the other teams within the firm, and be able to build lasting client relations.
As a senior member of the firm, you will also be tasked with mentoring more junior members of the firm.
Ideally the successful solicitor will have stood in a similar position with their current firm.
It is essential that applicants are UK qualified solicitors offering a minimum of 8 years PQE.

We aim to give all of our candidates an edge by giving them every legitimate help that we can – to ensure that in the current competitive environment our candidates are the best prepared and researched. Having been established for nearly a decade we are proud to have staff with a wealth of experience in top end legal recruitment which helped countless candidates through the recession of the early ‘90s. All of them genuinely care about the people they represent.
This is a cross section of some of the comments we have received:
“I have known Jane for a number of years now. She has never been pushy or simply interested in placing me in the first available job. Instead, she has focused on finding the right job for me, at the right time for me. I would recommend Jane to anyone.”
“Tony has done an excellent job throughout. He is professional, courteous and thorough.”
“Andrew was a pleasure to deal with completely professional from start to finish. He has been supportive, encouraging and did not attempt to pressure me in any way. I would not hesitate in recommending him to my colleagues and peers. Many thanks for your help!”
