Senior Insolvency Solicitor/Partner: Leeds
We are an award-winning firm looking to recruit a senior insolvency solicitor to join our thriving team in Leeds.
In a busy market it will not have escaped your notice that there is increasing demand for Insolvency Lawyers. So, what is it that makes this opportunity stand out?
We are on the lookout for an experienced lawyer who wants to make an impact. Someone who thrives within a team but will relish the freedom and autonomy to make a difference. You will be working alongside a lawyer who is already highly regarded within the sector, and there is high quality work for you to pick up on day one however, there is also still plenty of scope to make your mark and also to assist in the supervision of more junior team members. We are relatively open minded about the exact level of PQE and will review applications based on far more than just the years of experience under your belt. It is however, going to be essential that you can pick up matters, set strategy and manage them throughout so as a guide, it is likely that you will have at least 6 years post qualification experience but this role could also be a great opportunity for someone up to and including Partner level and we are certainly looking for someone with Partnership potential.
The focus of the team is on contentious work, our corporate team has largely supported on the non-contentious matters, but we would fully support you in managing non-contentious matters if this is something you would like to do.
The work on offer is broad ranging covering both corporate and personal insolvency and includes administrations, liquidations, CVA’s, bankruptcies and IVA’s. Examples of current matters include pursuing directors for misfeasance claims, pursuing directors loan accounts, bringing and defending injunction applications regarding sales of properties by liquidators, defending a technical application regarding the objectives to be pursued in an administration, possession proceedings, advising on the technicalities of an IVA and defending a challenge brought by creditors of material irregularity.
We don’t typically undertake bank led work, most of our work being from insolvency practitioners but we do act for some directors and also work with other turnaround professionals, lenders and stakeholders.
As you would expect with such a key role within insolvency, it would be useful if you are well networked and have existing relationships in this space. We would however love to hear from relocators and there will be plenty of opportunity to get yourself known, the Partner is very well connected but would also encourage and support you in developing contacts.
This role would suit someone senior looking for a change, a role with clear opportunity to have strategic input. Whether you are local or relocating into the area, this is an opportunity for someone who feels that now is the time to spread their wings and move from beneath a glass ceiling. Within a supportive but meritocratic environment, and surrounded by quality lawyers, you would have every opportunity to succeed and for your career to thrive at LCF Law.
