Commercial Counsel- Associate Director, Pharmaceuticals, In-house

Your new company
A global market leader in biopharmaceuticals, this award-winning business is a front-runner in discovering, developing and commercialising new medicines and functions across multiple jurisdictions. This company is known for its excellence in innovation for medications treating and preventing life threatening conditions and for its focus on its employees and progression within the business.

Your new role
A senior Commercial role within the Contracts Team that reports directly into the Head of the Department. The role will build on the company's existing legal and compliance expertise and promote the company's global business governance to ensure that the new legal and compliance structures are shaped and executed consistently across the company. The role forms part of a tight-knit team of lawyers and will involve collaboration with the wider business and legal and compliance teams in delivering key projects. Commercial contract drafting and negotiating will incorporate all areas of the business, which can include, among others, distribution agreements, master service agreements, IT agreements, non-interventional study agreements, data purchase agreements and IP assignments and licenses. The role extends itself to supporting commercial contracts across the business, drafting policies and guidance, designing and delivering training to legal and business colleagues as well as wide-ranging corporate governance and thought leadership matters.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will need to be an England & Wales qualified legal practitioner with commercial and/ or corporate law experience and 5 PQE (as a guide only). You will ideally be private practice trained, preferably with a top international firm to fit in with the high-performance and fast-paced culture and background of the team. International experience is essential to be considered for this opportunity. Experience as in-house counsel in a biotech or pharmaceutical company as well as awareness of laws and industry codes related to promoting prescription medication is desirable though by no means essential. This is a client-facing position and so a strong ability to convey complex information in a persuasive manner and client focus is vital. This company is known for its industry-leading innovation and opportunity for progression with excellent packages.

What you'll get in return
The organisation pays very competitive salaries, along with providing an excellent career trajectory. You will work within a hugely influential team that boasts an impressive retention rate, with esteemed colleagues on high quality work. Due to the business nature, you will be able to be autonomous and influential in this role. Typical of pharmaceutical businesses, the organization offers an extensive and comprehensive range of benefits that will appeal in this rapidly changing working world.
