Highly successful firm in North Yorkshire seeks a Civil Litigation Lawyer on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an opportune time for a talented solicitor or legal executive to join our client’s busy civil litigation department primarily working in the fields of mis sold mortgages. The successful applicant will manage a complex caseload of civil litigation matters from inception to conclusion, whilst supporting the firm’s other fee earners and legal assistants within the team. This role is based in our client’s office located in York.

  • Dispute resolution
  • Professional negligence
  • Negotiating settlements
  • Claims against financial advisers and mortgage companies
  • Advising on case prospects
  • Taking proofs of evidence
  • Preparing witness statements
  • Preparing pleadings
  • Attending court hearings
  • Attending case conferences with counsel
  • Assessing client instructions
  • Ensuring compliance

The Candidate
  • Qualified solicitors and legal executives with experience
  • Experience in fast track litigation and ideally multi track
  • Able to run your own caseload
  • Proficient in the use of case management systems
  • Personable, professional and detail orientated
