A fairly unique opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection Specialist to join an award-winning, cutting-edge firm in Leeds.
Working in a rapidly growing and dynamic area of law you will act as a key member of the firm's data, cyber & information law team, providing data protection support to clients.
As a Data Protection Specialist your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Providing GDPR, DPA, e-Privacy consultancy
- Providing Data Protection training
- Assisting solicitors and counsel to prepare court cases
- Managing data subject access and freedom on information requests
- Advising on and undertaking data-related risk assessments
Whilst it would be ideal if you also had some cyber security experience this is not critical, however, the data protection is experience is. They are really quite open as to where you may have gained your experience and whilst it could be from within a law firm, the firm is also happy to consider candidates who have spent some time in industry or with a consultancy as they are keen to recruit someone who is practical and results orientated rather than just someone who can quote the law.
Ideally you will hold a recognised data protection/ information governance qualification and at least 3 years practical experience. This is a full-time permanent role and a great opportunity to develop your career in all aspects of data protection law within a team and firm that are growing at an impressive pace.
