Specialist Prosecutor – SCCTD (Counter Terrorism Division)

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is looking for driven lawyers to join the Counter Terrorism Division as Specialist Prosecutors. This is a vibrant, fast paced team who work collaboratively with law enforcement partners to prosecute some of the most serious, high profile and challenging cases across the CPS.

We are looking to appoint four individuals who have a keen eye for detail, can motivate others and are a driving force for delivering justice.

The specialist prosecutor role offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategy of an investigation from the outset, therefore a high level of expertise in decision making is essential to this role.

The Counter Terrorism Division is responsible for prosecuting all terrorism crimes and terrorist related offences in England and Wales. They also deal with all allegations of incitement to racial and religious hatred, war crimes and crimes against humanity, official secrets cases, piracy and hijacking. No two days are the same; the Division has expanded in recent years, in response to the increase in the number, and complexity of cases, so it is important our prosecutors can adapt quickly and work amongst a fast-paced environment.

Delivering justice is a complex pursuit with work that is sometimes emotionally challenging, which is why we offer a range of benefits including wellbeing support, flexible working, civil service pension scheme, access to employee savings including high street retailer offers and discounts and 25 days leave, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service.

If you are committed to public service and are looking for a role at the very forefront of delivering justice, find out more and apply at https://www.cps.gov.uk/careers-cps
