Hours: 37 per week

Harrogate is an ambitious Council with a clear vision, a wide range of corporate priorities and important projects to deliver. A unique opportunity has arisen for a lawyer and manager who can demonstrate the potential to take on a senior, influential role leading on a number of corporate projects.

As a qualified and experienced solicitor or barrister, you will need to be confident working with all levels of local government officers, councillors, external solicitors and barristers and a range of external stakeholders across Yorkshire, providing advice and support.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in local government to provide strong technical advice, bringing creativity and solution-focused thinking to support the Council in delivering its key strategic projects.

The Chief Solicitor is also responsible for the management of the Legal Services and Procurement team. The Chief Solicitor is also the deputy monitoring officer.
