Grade B - £37,694 (National Framework) or £42,712 per annum (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25)
Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity for 12 months
Location: London* or Leeds Office
*In line with the Care Quality Commission estates strategy, we are planning to move our London office from 151 Buckingham Palace Road to 2 Redman Place, Stratford, East London in late 2020.

Let us tell you a little bit about the role....
We are recruiting two advisory lawyers to provide robust, responsive legal advice and support to CQC in the Adult Social Care legal advisory team.
In the Adult Social Care legal team responsibilities will include advising our Inspection and Registration colleagues on the use of civil enforcement powers and matters relating to CQC’s statutory framework. You will be advising and supporting on urgent civil enforcement, as well as advising on pre-action protocol letters, judicial review and public law matters and the role will involve contributing to CQC’s regulatory response to the COVID 19 pandemic.
You will be responsible for developing strong relations with colleagues throughout the organisation and with external stakeholders, using your experience and knowledge to shape legal solutions.
What we're looking for from you...
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister with either 3+ years post qualification experience with proven substantial experience providing legal advice in a criminal law setting.
Your key skills will include:
- Teamwork, and communication to build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- An eye for detail whilst looking at the bigger picture, the ability to analyse risk and benefit within a fast-paced environment and the ability to reassess priorities on a continual basis
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, Decision-making and Reasoning
- Adaptability and ability to advise and present complex legal information clearly and accessibly.
