Job Details
THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic department who are recognised market leaders for litigation work. Since the introduction of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation, the use, management and protection of personal data has never been more important or high profile. The change in law has heralded a new age of enforcement and clients must ensure that their processes and procedures are fully compliant. The firms current team offer a comprehensive service covering all aspects of information law, including advising on subject access requests, data breach response, contractual and commercial data protection issues, policies and procedures.
Alongside the Data Protection practice, they also advise all their public sector clients on the application of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Regulations 2004 and represented clients in enforcement action, taken by the Information Commissioner’s Office and at the First Tier Tribunal. Not essential, but additional broader regulatory & compliance experience would be advantageous, including CQC, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental, Consumer/Trading Standards, Licensing, Bribery & Corruption etc.
THE FIRM:
The firm advises over 800 businesses and is a market-leading law firm across Local and Central Government, Health and Social Care and Housing throughout the UK. They recruit and retain the best legal talent in the industry, investing the time in finding and keeping the right lawyers and business services team members to support them. They like people with character, who like to be professionally challenged and who truly care about working in partnership with their clients. Their award-winning teams provide construction, commercial, corporate, property, regulatory, employment and litigation (commercial and clinical negligence) legal advice.
