Sellick Partnership are working with a fantastic Local Authority based in the Derbyshire area, who are looking for a Principal Lawyer to join their team on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for a team of 3 Legal Officers and 1 Paralegal and report directly to the Head of Legal Services. The ideal candidate will have considerable Prosecutions/Civil Litigation experience and you will be involved in matters including:

  • Planning enforcement
  • Blue Badge/Benefit Fraud
  • Housing/Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Environmental Health

Previous line management experience is not essential so applications from people who are looking for that next step in their career are welcome. This is a permanent role and the start date will be dependent on the successful candidate's notice period.

The role is full time but compressed working arrangements will be considered. This position will be remote for the foreseeable future but flexible working will always be on offer once government guidelines are relaxed and there will be free parking for employees on site once you do return to the office. The salary is as advertsied and you will receive enrollment into the Local Government Pension Scheme plus access to online Local Government flexible benefits and a generous annual leave entitlement.
