Working at the forefront of diagnostic imaging, my client has an extraordinary opportunity for a high calibre commercial lawyer to join this start up, building an integral legal function for the group which has interests both in Europe and US.

Although still at a relatively fledgling phase of their development, the groups presence and innovation has seen them revolutionized their market, resulting in turnover exceeding $200m in just five years. Moreover, the versatility of their offering and pipeline means they expect growth to increase five-fold over the next 3-5 years. They are a remarkable success story and led by an exceptional group of people who have put in place key processes which are highly robust and effective, covering everything from their IP to tax.

This role reports directly into the CEO with access to the wider Board and the ideal candidate will have previous experience of working for a similar start up, preferably having worked in a science-based sector such as life sciences, biotech or pharma etc.

You'll support a wide array of departments across the group covering Commercial Operations, Research & Development and functional departments (Medical, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and HR) on all legal, corporate and business conduct (compliance) matters, with an analytical approach, strong attention to detail, excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills

We would envisage this suiting someone with a minimum 5 years PQE and you will be expected to be able to work from their HQ in the Oxford region 2-3 days a week (post Covid), with a monthly stayover trip to Italy.

Those candidates with experience with EU/UK healthcare regulatory laws, competition law, anti-bribery/anti-corruption legislation, data privacy law and commercial contracts law are preferred. Knowledge of EU/UK regulatory framework governing medicines and the pharmaceutical industry (including knowledge of the ABPI/EFPIA Code provisions) would be especially welcome.
