Principal Property Lawyer – Local Government – London

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Principal Property Lawyer to join a London based local authority that covers much of central London, including some of its wealthiest and more diverse property portfolios. This role will run for an initial 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter, and will pay £35 - £45 per hour dependent upon experience.

This assignment will operate on a remote-working basis for the foreseeable future, but there may be an expectation for office working at some point in the future if guidance should change.

The ideal candidate must have prior experience handling commercial and residential property law and practice and for some of this experience to ideally be in handling high-value property.

You will be expected to work as a team member in the Property Division assisting the Chief Lawyers in dealing with matters relating to all areas of, including but not limited to:

• sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold property
• the negotiation and granting of rack rented and ground leases and all other leasehold related work
• redevelopments of commercial property
• acquisitions and disposals of headlease interests and consequential work
• residential property work as required

The successful candidate must be a practising solicitor or barrister, with current practising certificate.
