This firm is a nationally recognised law practice who have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Commercial/Procurement Lawyer to join their reputable team. Whilst the team is based in Exeter, the firm take a flexible approach to cross office working and working remotely and are happy to discuss flexible working patterns for candidates who are not local to Exeter. Your new role
You will report directly to the experienced Partner and play an integral part in a wide range of work for the firms extensive Public Sector client base. The team advises local authorities, Central Government and other public bodies across the full reach of their activities with a focus on public sector commercial contracts, procurement law, vires and State aid. The work is varied and exciting and the team is nationally recognised for its work in the Public Sector field; they are appointed to many national local authority frameworks. Within a busy team, and mutually supportive environment, you will enjoy high quality, high value work.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an ambitious lawyer, circa 2+PQE, with good general commercial and contract knowledge and experience, ideally within the procurement law realm, however this is not a prerequisite. Public sector or state aid experience is useful but not essential and you must be able to use your initiative while working as part of a team. You will have the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients and show a genuine commitment to fully understanding the public sector drivers that sit behind each client and each project. Dedicated and enthusiastic, you will have the ability to work efficiently with a commitment to client care. If joining at the junior level, you should demonstrate an enthusiasm to get involved in business development, and if joining at a more senior level, the firm would expect you to grow your existing client relationships alongside leading new relationships with the team's extensive client base.
