Accredited with the Investors in People (Silver Award), Clifford James are an ABS who offer career development. The successful candidate will join our highly collaborative office where every team member works together to ensure all of our clients receive the best possible service.

Person Specification

We are seeking solicitor who can grow into their role as our firm develops and therefore the successful candidate will have at least 5 years PQE with experience working within the road traffic sector.

Due to the niche area in which we operate, experience of handling diminution in vehicle value cases is not essential as training will be provided. However, it is expected that the candidate will quickly become conversant in all relevant case law.

Good knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and application is essential. It would be advantageous if the candidate holds Higher Rights of Audience, but this isn’t essential as long as they have confidence to speak before an audience.

The candidate will also need to be highly organised, methodical, and commercially driven.

Key Responsibilities

Once full training has been completed, you will be expected to operate independently in accordance with the processes and values of the firm. In particular, you will:

  1. Manage your own case load. Provide advice to clients. Negotiate with third party representatives. Issue court proceedings, prepare court documents and witness statements. Instruct and brief counsel. Prepare bills of costs. Attend court hearings.
