This is a unique and rare opportunity for a Private Client partner to join one of the South-Easts heaviest hitting yet bespoke practices based in Godalming, Surrey. This practice houses rainmakers from partners to associates and attract the highest calibre of lawyer outside of the city.

This firm is one of the oldest in all of Surrey and has been firmly ingrained with the affluent and agricultural routes of the County. Due to their consistent and organic success, they have been able to build extremely long-lasting relationships with the local communities. Due to the environment of the firm, staff retention is very high, and many of the Partners have spent the majority of their career at the firm.

This practice has progression engrained within their culture. They have an established pathway to both salaried and equity partnership for their fee-earners which reflects their market-leading retention rate. The partners at this practice hit at the same weight as those of Top 100 rival firms, although they have created a culture and atmosphere of a bespoke family friendly practice which is a rare blend found in todays legal market.

The culture of the firm is one which avoids the hierarchy and red tape of larger corporate models. Fee-earners there are targeted on quality and not the traditional churning of files; to support this, they allow for 1-2-1 admin support.

The role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Private Client solicitor 10+ years PQE to join a practice offering salaried partnership with a route to equity in the short term

This department houses some of the most experience private client solicitors outside of the city. They are looking to grow with the view of succession. The department deals with a broad array of private client work which includes:

• Wills / Trusts
• Probate / Estate Administration
• Tax
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection

This department boasts an affluent client base, much of which is based purely through referrals or reputation. There is very little need for this department to 'market and BD' due to their presence in the market meaning experience and an interest in this is advantageous, but not essential.

This firm are seeking a technically strong lawyer and in line with succession, they are seeking someone who is seeking to progress towards equity in the short term. An interest in involving yourself in the 'commercial' aspect of a running and managing a department and practice is key, although immediate experience in this is not a requirement but similarly advantageous.
