Three district level councils’ in Suffolk have come together to create a single legal team, working across the County, providing innovative and solutions focused legal service to the three councils.
The Shared Legal Service team provides high quality legal advice across several areas of law to include property & commercial, planning and litigation/licensing. They also support the administration framework along with the elected Members and ensure that the council’s dealings are lawful, and decisions are taken correctly.
As a property lawyer, you will be supporting the Service Manager and the Business Partners whilst providing advice to officers and members on statute, case law and policy in all aspects of property law to include commercial leases, acquisitions, sales and shared ownership.
We are looking for a qualified solicitor, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or barrister with experience of working in a busy legal office. The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude who enjoys working as part of a busy team but also a self-starter and will share professional knowledge and learning with other members of the team. You will also have the ability to identify and exploit creative solutions and to inspire others, lead and motivate staff.
However, we will consider offering a role as a career progression opportunity for someone with experience and wishing to qualify via CILEx. Or you may be a lawyer experienced in another field and wishing to broaden your expertise and skills in a new area.
In return the Babergh Mid-Suffolk benefits package includes:
- Competitive salary and pension scheme
- Training and development opportunities
- Generous annual leave entitlement with an option to buy additional annual leave
- Flexible and agile working schemes
- Cycle to work scheme
- A range of wellbeing initiatives including employee assistance programme
- Healthcare options and eye tests
If this is a challenge that you are interested in, we would like to hear from you.
