NHS Resolution is an Arm’s Length Body of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). As a not for profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources for patients. Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling both clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.

Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.

Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services.

Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.

NHS Resolution operates a number of indemnity schemes, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, primarily for the handling of liability claims against English NHS Trusts and other commissioners and/or providers of NHS care.

The Claims teams work in an interesting and dynamic climate, all contributing to a continually improving claims service.

As a Clinical Case Manager, you will be responsible for contributing towards the main aims of the NHS Resolution by proactively managing clinical negligence claims from commencement to conclusion on behalf of Trusts or GPs and NHS England. Clinical case managers are responsible for their own portfolio of complex and non-complex clinical negligence cases and conduct the investigation, quantification and negotiation of these claims to conclusion.

In addition to having technical knowledge and experience of claims management and excellent organisational skills the Clinical Case Manager will also demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Be focused on continuous service improvement and innovation
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

A written assessment will form part of the selection process and may be used for further shortlisting. The written assessment will be undertaken in the week commencing 15/03/2021.
Interviews and further assessments will be held via conference call or video based interaction rather than face to face meetings The interview date will be in the week commencing 22/03/2021 and will be used to assess knowledge, skills and competency.
