We are looking for a Senior Legacy Officer to support Battersea’s work by ensuring that legacy income is maximised and delivered in a timely way, and to proactively manage a caseload of more complex or challenging legacies and to manage the work of the Legacy Assistant.
Battersea is here for every dog and cat and has been since 1860. We are a leading animal welfare charity and over the last 160 years we’ve grown from one home in London to three rescuing and rehoming centres across the South East. With c500 staff and 1000 volunteers, we have cared for over three million vulnerable animals We also campaign tirelessly to make things better for dogs and cats; sharing our expertise and educating the public and policymakers about responsible pet ownership. Our Finance Team
Battersea’s Finance and Corporate Services Department incorporates a range of functions that support the rest of the organisation. From IT helpdesk and systems support, to financial accounting, legacy administration, procurement and facilities management, these teams work strategically and collaboratively to ensure that Battersea can be here for every dog and cat.
The Legacy department is responsible for c£20million of income per annum and engages actively with potential donors as well as the estates of people who have remembered the Home in their will. They work proactively with the Legacy marketing team and other departments to ensure that future income pipelines are maximized and represent the Home to audiences likely to be receptive to making a gift in death.
