Job Details
Prospectus is pleased to be partnering with an independent advice charity who provide free, confidential, unconstrained and impartial advice and information to individuals in the community across Bury, Bolton, Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford. Their services are focused on supporting communities who are most vulnerable and those who are locked out of the welfare system, or on the verge of being excluded. At an exciting time of growth, they are looking to recruit up to five Housing Litigation Solicitors to join their housing teams and deliver services across the North West and Yorkshire.
As one of their Housing Litigation Solicitor's, you will handle your own Legal Aid caseload of matters from instruction through to completion, acting on behalf of tenants who are experiencing legal disputes relating but not limited to rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, unlawful evictions and Homelessness s204 appeals to the County Court and beyond. Supporting your clients, you will deliver advice and advocacy under Legal Aid Agency contracts; negotiating with external authorities and agencies to progress cases effectively.
To be successful, you will have Post Qualified Experience (PQE) of delivering advice and advocacy in housing and debt and hold a valid practicing certificate. This is a crucial role for our client, and as such previous experience of working within the remit of a Legal Aid Agency contract is essential, as is the ability to meet billing targets. Finally, you will have practice in liaising with courts, tribunals and other legal bodies to reach a positive client outcome combined with the ability to effectively communicate as appropriate both orally and written.
