This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join Ruskin Mill Trust as a Senior In-House Lawyer (Head of Legal Services) during a time of expansion.   

The successful applicant will be offered the salary of £54,947 - £62,858 depending on experience.

This is a 52-week role with 33 days’ holiday rising to 38 days after 5 years of service.

A relocation package may be available for an exceptional candidate

The post holder will be required to provide a pragmatic in-house legal advice service to the Ruskin Mill Trust Group and to support the mitigation of risk arising from any legal, regulatory, compliance or governance issues.  The role will sit within RMT’s emerging civil service (corporate services) and will work closely with the Executive Chair, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Team and Company Secretaries, delivering commercially aware legal advice to colleagues and Boards of Trustees/Directors always ensuring alignment with the visions, values and method of the Trust. 

The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Trust’s strategies and projects by providing solution focused support which will involve developing and enhancing professional and business relationships and include, establishing a close working relationship with key stakeholders and external advisors.

To be able to undertake this role you must be English law qualified solicitor with circa 5 years PQE (post-qualification experience) and have experience in an in-house legal role (preferably in a charity context although not essential). This is a highly diverse role and would suit a solicitor keen and able to manage a wide range of work projects and who is able to offer advice across a broad-base of legal areas as the role will involve all areas of law: commercial, contract, employment, corporate restructuring, charity (The post holder will have access to external specialist professional advisers, where required).In addition, you must have advanced planning and organisations skills, be highly flexible and show initiative with high levels of emotional intelligence and personal resilience.
