An opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to join a North London Local Authority covering Employment & Education P/T

Your new company
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lawyer to join a North London Local Authority as a Senior Lawyer advising on Employment, Education and Corporate work. This is a part time (3 days a week) Locum role, initially for three months with the opportunity of extension.

Your new role
As a Senior Lawyer you will be responsible for managing a caseload of employment related legal matters, including tribunals, providing employment based advice and legal advice on Cabinet and committee reports. You will also give advice to schools on education law in general and give guidance to schools post lockdown. Finally you will provide advice on special education needs cases - principally threats of and actual judicial review challenges to decision making.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX professional with considerable experience of employment law, employment tribunals and education law, preferably within a public sector setting. You will have some experience of advising on complex constitutional and corporate governance issues affecting local authorities and will have a keen interest in advancing your experience SEN work.

What you'll get in return
On offer is a competitive rate of between £38-£45 per hour depending on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic bit will be provided with a laptop. The contract is initially for 3 months with the likely hood of extension. Flexible working options available.
