Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – £45 to £50 per hour – South East England – Remote-working

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a dynamic Local Authority in South East England. This contract is offered for an initial period of 3 months ideally on a full-time basis but part-time applicants will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive possessing previous Commercial Contracts and Procurement experience gained working within Local Government and will have handled Construction Contracts matters in previous roles.

Duties may include:

• Providing legal advice on non-contentious Commercial and Procurement law such as early termination and interpretation of clauses with particular focus on construction law contractual matters

• Dealing with all aspects of the procurement process

• Representing the authority at committees and board meetings where required

• Brief Counsel where necessary

• Represent the Council in court when required

• Monitoring and advising on changes to National and EU legislation

A rate of between £45 and £50 per hour is offered, dependent upon experience.
