The Team

The firms specialist energy team continues to be at the forefront of the sector; they have a national and international client base with a focus on investment and transactional activity. Their work covers diverse technologies with a recent trend towards demand response, storage and 'smart grid' solutions in the electricity sector. However, this is by no means all that they do.

Their lawyers are drawn primarily from commercial, corporate and banking teams: with specialist support from colleagues in real estate, construction and planning.

They regularly advise on the corporate and commercial aspects of large transactions in the energy space, including site and plant acquisitions, as well as a variety of corporate, fundraising and structuring matters for clients in the sector.

The Role

This Firm is seeking a Commercial Solicitor 3+ years PQE to join them at their office in the City of London.

They are looking for an ambitious and talented Commercial Solicitor with 3+ years experience in the Energy sector to join their experienced and entrepreneurial team.

The Work

Work will include advising on a wide range of matters (including regulatory issues), drafting commercial contracts and co-ordinating energy-related due diligence of funding and M&A transactions.

  • The work will include servicing work for key clients in the energy sector as well as advising new clients
  • It will include advising on a wide range of matters (including regulatory issues), drafting commercial contracts and co-ordinating energy-related due diligence of funding and M&A transactions.
  • You would not be expected to provide advice on e.g. the real estate, planning or construction-related aspects of energy projects, as these are covered by specialist colleagues in the relevant teams.
  • The role also provides the opportunity to work with the wider commercial team, including on the cross-over into energy tech and data advice.

The Candidate

The Firm is seeking a Commercial Solicitor 3+ years PQE to join them in the City of London.

You will already have (3+ years) experience of working in the energy sector, along with a proven track record of advising on complex projects and agreements.

You will ideally come from a firm where the quality of work is high, and you will be able to handle matters mostly without significant supervision. Still, there will always be a line manager or colleague to help if you need it.
