RATE:                            £40.00 per hour

THE ROLE:
A busy North East based Local Authority have an opening for an experienced Contracts and Procurement Solicitor to join their team on a locum basis. Reporting to and under the management of the Legal Manager, the appointed Locum Contracts and Procurement Solicitor will be required to provide procurement and commercial contract legal advice and support across the full range of the Council’s functions. The postholder will be required to give legal advice and assist in commercial contracts, procurement law and practice (including EU law), public sector collaborative arrangements, constitutional frameworks, joint ventures, collaborations and trusts along with procurement/commissioning and related matters.

THE CANDIDATE:
Applications are sought from experienced Contracts and Procurement Solicitors who possess a minimum of 3 years’ PQE in this area of law. Public Sector commercial experience is desired in order to be considered for this role. Applicants must be confident self-starters who can hit the ground running with an existing caseload as you will be assisting with an increased work load on a locum basis.
