Corporate Counsel (EMEA): This is a brilliant opportunity to work within a hyper-scaling Data Center companies. Highly regarded in the US market, this company have entered expansion stages inside of Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will be given clear career progression in a multi-billion organisation. This is very much a senior position within the company reporting directly to the VP.

This company is a leading Data Centre Specialist headquartered in the US. With recent expansion into the European Markets, they are looking to make their European legal team based from London. A large scaling up operation is happening in both the US and Europe with recent land acquisitions across the continents.

They are looking for an Corporate Counsel within EMEA to assist the global VP based in the US. You will be responsible for the complex agreements to support the Europe Strategic opportunities and business objectives. As this is essentially a 'greenfield' department within Europe, you will need a pro-active, solution-oriented mindset to legal matters in order to help build the legal infrastructure in Europe.

The Role

This is a brilliant opportunity to be a Corporate Counsel (EMEA) for this hyperscaling US Data center company.

The Corporate Counsel (EMEA) is responsible for global legal assistance of all client agreements, including large, complex data center leases and services agreements. In addition to providing legal expertise and assistance, you will be working collaboratively across the business.

Ideal candidates will have data center or telecoms expertise, both international in-house and law firm experience.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate large, complex agreements with hyperscalers and other enterprise clients, including, without limitation, letters of intent, data center lease agreements, colocation agreements, master service agreements, service orders and repeatable lease templates.
  • Develop, implement and manage process improvements in the client negotiation process and resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
  • Support global legal strategy for commercial contracts with clients, including contract management and governance.
  • Responsible for legal work and supervision of outside counsel associated with client contracts and related agreements, including analysis, drafting and other matters related to these agreements.
  • Provide legal analysis of client contracts in support of certain business development transactions, including document review and due diligence.
  • Provide legal guidance with respect to compliance initiatives for client agreements.
  • Develop and update client-related agreement templates and provide counseling on the use of such templates.
  • Support global Sales, Finance and Operations teams.

Requirements

  • Be a qualified solicitor with at least 6 years PQE experience
  • Experience with Data Center or telecommunication
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate (due to leases)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hyperscaling company
